Education System
Education in Canada is provided, funded and overseen by federal, provincial, and local governments. Generally the curriculum is overseen by the province. Education in Canada is generally divided by Elementary (Primary School, Public School), followed by Secondary (High School) and Post Secondary (University, College). Education is compulsory up to an age of 16. Canada generally has 190 school days in the year, officially starting from September (after Labor Day) to the end of June (usually the last Friday of the month).

Secondary Schools
There are numerous private, independent and publicly funded secondary schools in Canada. Students can choose to study intensive English or, an integrated academic and English program. For those with strong English language skills there are various academic programs, which can lead to a Canadian high school diploma

Community Colleges and Technical Institutions
Colleges and Technical Institutions are popular education choices in Canada; they offer professional programs of 1 to 3 years (often including a work term) that are highly applicable in the job market. Some community colleges offer university transfer programs that allow students to take courses that are parallel to those offered for the first two years of a four year university program. Students must still apply to the university to gain admission to complete the last two years of the four year program.

Universities
For the university transfer program, it is designed for the Canadian high-school graduates and Hong Kong F.7 graduate students. Students can complete at most 2 years of the university credits, then transfer to the second or third year of university. Students can generally finish the Bachelor Degree within 4 years. Canadian universities are quite strict on the requirements for the applicants. Students should obtain satisfied result in TOEFL as its basic entry requirement for the university.
