IPA Phonetics Certificate Course
The ultimate goal of reading is good comprehension. But in order for your child to understand what he reads, he must be able to do it quickly and automatically, without stumbling over words. Phonics facilitates that process. With lots of practice sounding out words, he learns to read more fluently. And it definitely enhances his ability in spelling and pronunciation as well.

Practice your pronunciation skills via Egress's integrated International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) Course. Like all learners of English, distinct mispronunciations and grammatical confusions can be found amongst Chinese learners of English.

Our IPA Course is designed for all local Hong Kong residents who may find pronunciation difficult.

Our Course covers the following:
- Distinguishing between letters and sounds
- Distinguishing between long and short vowel sounds
- Distinguishing between strong and weak forms of letters within words

Quizzes and Dictations: In order to ensure the students are capable of applying their knowledge, students will have small quizzes or dictations in every class.

Examination: There will be two examinations throughout the course.

Certificate: Students are required to maintain a minimum of 95% attendance. Attendance below 95% may be made up by completing make-up classes. Students must pass the two examinations in order to obtain the certificate.
