Comprehension Course
Reading is the construction of meaning. Without understanding, there is no reading. We have to really work to get that information we want or to comprehend the story. Reading comprehension involves not just understanding what we read but also adjusting to different kinds of reading material. So reading comprehension always leads to academic success.

Objective:
This course enhances students’ ability in reading and comprehension skills. It provides students the opportunity to improve vocabulary, to learn to recognize context clues, to be familiar with different kinds of writing styles and to increase reading rate.

Lesson Planning:
In class: An article will be introduced in every two classes. And every article contains different writing style for students to understand different writing structure. Students are required to read the story and comprehend it by following the teacher’s instructions. New vocabularies are also introduced.

Quizzes and Dictations: In order to ensure the students are capable of applying their knowledge, students will have small quizzes or dictations in every class.

Examination: There will be two examinations throughout the course.
