ESL Certificate Course
Grammar is a huge part of our everyday life. Proper grammar is necessary when students are learning a new language, taking standardized tests, and to write well in the professional world. Grammar is the mental system of rules and categories that allows humans to form and interpret the words and sentences of their language. Based on the use of “grammar”, our exclusive ESL program shall definitely increase student’s skills in listening, writing, reading and speaking.

Course Intro:

Our school has brought the ESL (English as a Second Language) training program for both the primary school and secondary school students from a Canadian institute, McDonald International Academy. The ESL program is for the student who takes English as his/her second language. Our experienced teachers always teach patiently and provide academic guidance to our students. The ESL program helps students improve their proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking. Furthermore, the program would also help students improve their communication ability and acquire better academic achievement. The spoon-feed education system in Hong Kong has not been able for students learning practical English. The program aims at combating this problem. We hope that students can study better English effectively under our fun study atmosphere and build up a solid English foundation from their childhood.

Objective:
This is a complete and in-depth training in English. Students are trained to become more familiar with some grammatical rules of English, and to be able to use them in their own writing. This course improves students’ general ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written English.

Lesson Planning:
In class: This course is taught systematically. Basic structure will be reviewed and more complicated grammatical structures will be introduced and practiced at length. Students are required to finish some exercises in class after they have learnt the new materials.

Quizzes and Dictations: In order to ensure the students are capable of applying their knowledge, students will have small quizzes or dictations in every class.

Examination: There will be two examinations a year.

Certificate: Students are required to maintain a minimum of 95% attendance. Attendance below 95% may be made up by completing make-up classes. Students must pass the two examinations in order to obtain the certificate.
